‘Supermoon II’

 

The pumpkin coach approaches 

over the crest of the hill

 

A rooster murmurs about dawn

 

We walked there, once

Can I find

the shadows of our footprints?

 

Coyotes howl and leap

for the golden ball forever out of reach
