Poem #5

Boy on the rock

You spider up the side

damp curls, prehensile toes

‘look at me!’

I’m looking my dear, my lost brother

I look and you are gone

taking the family jokes

taking my childhood name

taking the twoness of summer days

Ebb tide — the rock shines

My brother, where are you?

Gone

Gone
