Common Grackles are blackbirds. That means they’re black birds, right?
Amazing what a difference a change in perspective makes.
ETA: I will be chasing the Barrow’s Goldeneye tomorrow. AGAIN. Is the third time the charm? Stay tuned!
Very good capture of the iridescence of grackle feathers! They can be stunning or drab, defending on the lighting. I have watched grackles pester Red Tailed Hawks mercilessly. They show I fear about haranguing the much larger bird, and I have even watched a grackle chase a RTH away from a GBH nest, while perching atop the shoulder ofthe RTH, pecking away at its head. Amazing birds.
