Turkeys don’t just gobble

I watched a Wild turkey this morning chuckling and cooing to her little fluffball peeps, who piped back to her. No wonder people keep poultry. The sounds are so soothing.

(Well, not guinea hens. Or peacocks.)

  1. How did you get that close? I’ve never been able to get that close to a wild turkey or her babies.

    • It takes a lot of hard work… well, it takes a lot of standing around. Our yard backs up to woodlot and farm fields so just standing quietly on the deck for half an hour or so leads to things wandering by as if I’m not there.
